Frankfurt Campus, Germany
Overview
The M.Sc. Real Estate Management (German/English) program at ISM is designed to provide students with in-depth, practice-oriented knowledge of the real estate industry, preparing them for strategic and managerial roles in one of the most dynamic sectors of the global economy. This full-time Master’s program combines interdisciplinary academic foundations with real-world application and international exposure, making it ideal for students seeking a comprehensive understanding of real estate from planning to investment.
Throughout the program, students acquire expertise across the entire real estate value chain. From project development and urban planning to real estate financing, valuation, investment, and portfolio management, the curriculum is structured to reflect the complex and interconnected nature of today’s property markets. The course content is tailored to encompass various real estate segments including logistics centers, commercial and retail properties, residential housing, and industrial facilities, offering a broad and flexible skill set that matches the sector's diversity.
In addition to technical knowledge, students develop business administration competencies, including financial analysis, risk management, legal frameworks, and strategic management, which are crucial for making sound investment and operational decisions in real estate contexts. Courses also cover the economic and social dimensions of real estate development, including sustainability, digitalization, and smart city concepts—ensuring students are equipped to lead in a rapidly changing environment.
A key feature of this program is its close integration with industry leaders, most notably through ISM's partnership with Ernst & Young (EY). This collaboration provides students with valuable opportunities for hands-on experience, company visits, and expert-led lectures. Real-world case studies and consulting projects allow students to apply their academic learning in professional contexts, gain insights from top-tier practitioners, and build essential industry connections.
The international component of the program is embedded through a semester abroad at one of ISM’s prestigious partner universities. This allows students to deepen their global understanding of real estate markets, explore region-specific investment trends, and enhance their intercultural and language skills in an academic setting outside of Germany.
Moreover, students benefit from ISM's Career Center, which provides individual career coaching, networking opportunities, and application support tailored to the real estate sector. Whether entering large real estate firms, asset management companies, consultancies, or financial institutions, graduates are equipped with both the theoretical grounding and the practical tools needed for successful entry into the job market.
The program concludes with a practice-oriented master’s thesis, often developed in collaboration with companies in the real estate sector. This final project challenges students to tackle real-life industry problems using research, strategy, and innovation.
Graduates of the M.Sc. Real Estate Management program emerge as highly qualified professionals, ready to take on roles such as real estate consultants, project developers, investment analysts, property managers, and real estate portfolio strategists. Their solid academic background, combined with international experience and practical exposure, makes them attractive candidates for leadership positions in the evolving real estate landscape.
