Interior Architecture and Design

The Interior Architecture and Design program provides you with broad exposure to aspects of interior design and prepares you to enhance function and quality of life, increase productivity, and protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public through design. The program is grounded in research-based problem solving in addition to a variety of cultural, environmental, and historical perspectives.

This major is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

CONCENTRATIONS

A concentration allows you to specialize in a certain area within your major, offering a depth of information and hands-on experiences that you may not otherwise get. Many students in this major will concentrate in one area to work in a specific field after college, as well as find mentors and internships before they even graduate.

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

With dynamic experiences that include studio instruction, service learning, and internships, you will learn to design sustainable, functional, and beautiful spaces that enhance quality of life. This concentration requires completion of a Design Scenario at the end of year one to continue on in the major.

INTERIOR PRODUCTS AND RETAILING

Explore the products, strategies, marketing and consumer behavior, and business development and apply design thinking to place yourself at the nexus between manufacturers and designers, retailers, and consumers.
