Visual Perception and Imaging
6 ECTSExplores the essential concepts of the human visual process as a foundation for imaging across all media, including cinema, computer animation, and multimedia. Students develop skills in evaluation and application of visual perception principles as professional design tools.
Basic Design Principles
6 ECTSIntroduces design language, core elements, perception principles, and basic drawing techniques. Students learn to communicate through 2D compositions and progress to digital media applications implementing fundamental design concepts.
Digital Design Fundamentals
6 ECTSCovers the digital environment as both a medium and a tool, including bitmap and vector graphics formats, digital photography, and distribution methods. Students gain hands-on proficiency with industry-standard software through in-class practice and presentations.
Typography and Publication Design
6 ECTSFocuses on typographic principles, letterform design, and editorial layout for both print and digital publications. Students develop expertise in type selection, hierarchy, and composition for effective visual communication.
Interface and Interaction Design
6 ECTSExamines user-centered design methods for digital interfaces, including UX/UI principles, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing. Students create interactive projects addressing real-world communication challenges.
Graduation Project
12 ECTSA capstone studio course where students develop a comprehensive design project from concept through execution, culminating in the RESET: VCD Student Graduation Projects Exhibition. Students work under faculty mentorship to produce portfolio-quality professional work.
