Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (TR)
Alanya Campus, Turkey
Overview
Physiotherapy and rehabilitation science began by examining the anatomy of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, the effects of exercise, massage and various physical agents on the systems in the body. It developed to eliminate the functional losses of the disabled population after wars, traumas and polio epidemics. Today, advances in medical science and developments in the field of health care have increased the need for physiotherapists.
Physiotherapists determine the functional limitations, pain and abilities of individuals with special measurement and evaluation methods in pain and dysfunctions caused by injuries, diseases, congenital disabilities, movement system disorders or other conditions. At the same time, they plan and implement programs to improve function and functional capacity, re-evaluate and report. They also create appropriate exercises and preventive programs to maintain the health of healthy individuals.
