"Gender & Women's Studies BA "

 Students work closely with GWS faculty in discussion-centered courses and independent research projects. Our students become critical and creative thinkers, able to analyze gender through interdisciplinary connections and multiple cultural perspectives. GWS graduates bring their knowledge of gender and their analytical abilities to other academic fields, to graduate and professional programs, and to a wide range of careers.

Gender and Women’s Studies Major with Queer Studies Emphasis

This course of study allows students to focus their work on the experiences, oppression, struggles, and accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to other coursework, each student completes a capstone project focused on Queer Studies. The major emphasis in Queer Studies is available to students majoring in Gender and Women’s Studies.

Queer Studies Minor

By completing this minor, students will be able to combine a focus on the experiences, oppression, struggles, and accomplishments of the LGBTQ+ community with their studies across the liberal arts. The minor in Queer Studies is available only to students not majoring or minoring in Gender and Women’s Studies. Students interested in both fields are encouraged to pursue a Gender and Women’s Studies major with a Queer Studies emphasis.
