The programme delivers a comprehensive blend of theory and practice for modern information technology professionals, combining core specialist modules with a substantial research component. In IT Project Management, students apply PRINCE2 and Agile principles to real‑world software development projects, gaining hands‑on experience in planning, risk assessment, and team leadership. Information Security explores threat landscapes, privacy regulations, and the design of compliant security frameworks, preparing graduates to protect organisational assets. Digital Design and Development focuses on information architecture, user‑interface fundamentals, prototyping techniques, and coding for web, mobile, and emerging platforms, fostering creative problem‑solving and clean, reusable code. A mandatory 60‑credit research project enables independent investigation of social or academic challenges, resulting in a scholarly article and a tangible artefact such as a workflow, training document, website, or application. Optional elective streams, including AI in Practice, Systems Thinking for Digital Transformation, Big Data and Business Analytics, and Strategic Leadership in IT, allow tailored learning paths that align with individual career goals. The curriculum is delivered over one academic year full‑time or two years part‑time, with intensive teaching blocks that accommodate working professionals while maintaining rigorous assessment through coursework and examinations.
