Digital Humanities

During your studies, you will acquire skills and abilities in the field of practical and applied computer science, in selected humanities and in the digital humanities.

These are supplemented by modules from the elective area of ​​the humanities and social sciences as well as from the elective area of ​​computer science.

Basics of computer science:

Fundamentals of Digital Humanities:

• Introduction to Digital Humanities
• Introduction to Digital Philology

Both modules are taught in English. The Digital Humanities modules are designed to link the two disciplines in terms of content and to demonstrate and communicate areas of application for corresponding synergies.

You will be introduced to possibilities for finding computer-based solutions for specific humanities problems in the relevant Digital Humanities modules. You will also be enabled to develop analytical skills that enable you to critically handle data. Building on this, you will be able to prepare media (re)presentation forms, test humanities theses, and create digital publications and tools.

The final bachelor's thesis should either contain career-preparatory, industry-related topics or arouse interest in research through a more scientific topic.
