Art History BA

The University of South Carolina offers the most robust Art History B.A. in the state, with courses spanning the world from prehistory to the present. The program’s nine full time professors have been recognized with numerous awards and accolades for excellence in teaching and scholarship. Our students benefit from the department’s close ties to the many cultural institutions in Columbia and the region, including the Columbia Museum of Art, the McKissick Museum, Historic Columbia, and 701 Center for Contemporary Art. Graduates from our program have followed a variety of paths including arts-related careers, professions in planning and preserving the built environment, government and nonprofit work, and graduate school.
