Curriculum & Modules

The BSc Animation curriculum is structured across three progressive levels, taking you from foundational skills through to advanced creative practice and a professional-quality portfolio. Fundamentals of Animation

Core Module

An introduction to the core principles of animation, including timing, spacing, and the application of Disney's 12 Principles of Animation. You will develop foundational skills in both 2D and 3D animation through practical workshops.

3D Modelling

Core Module

Learn the tools and techniques to create 3D assets for games, video, and animation. The module covers the full modelling pipeline including modelling, texturing, lighting, and rendering through hands-on lab work.

Design and Modelling (Creating the Concept)

Develop your artistic and storytelling skills by designing characters, environments, and props. You will practice sketching and modelling in workshops and build a compelling visual portfolio of concept art.

Character Animation

Core Module

Master the complete process of character creation from initial conceptualisation through to detailed 2D and 3D execution. Topics include character articulation, biomechanics, facial expressions, lip-syncing, and motion capture.

Creative Project Management
