Discover The University of Law: UK's Leading Legal Education Provider

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the longest-established specialist providers of legal education and training in the United Kingdom. Its origins can be traced back to 1876 with the formation of the leading tutorial firm Gibson and Weldon, and it was formally established as The College of Law in 1962 when Gibson and Weldon merged with The Law Society School of Law.

In 2006, ULaw made history by becoming the first independent institution to be granted degree-awarding powers by the Privy Council. It was subsequently granted full university status in November 2012, becoming the first for-profit institution to achieve this recognition in the UK. The university is now owned by Global University Systems (GUS).

Today, ULaw is the UK's largest provider of legal education, with campuses across London (Bloomsbury and Moorgate), Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, and several other UK cities, as well as international branches in Hong Kong and Berlin. The university delivers legal training to 94 of the top 100 UK law firms and has an alumni network of over 100,000 members spanning more than 155 countries.
