Quantity Surveying BSc

Year 1 builds core knowledge in construction, introducing materials, low-rise construction methods, sustainability and building services, alongside management, economics and legal principles. You’ll develop professional skills and complete an interdisciplinary project to understand real construction challenges in practice.

Year 2 deepens your technical and commercial understanding through multi-storey construction, cost estimation, contract administration and project planning. You’ll gain hands-on experience in quantification, procurement processes and professional practice, working on realistic industry scenarios within multidisciplinary teams and strengthening analytical and problem-solving skills.

In Year 3, you focus on advanced project management, BIM and commercial construction management. You’ll analyse projects from design through to whole life-cycle impact, exploring financial control, legal frameworks and business strategy. You’ll also complete a dissertation, applying research, critical thinking and technical knowledge to solve a complex real-world construction problem.
