Upon completion, you are eligible to apply for registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a Dental Care Professional.

Curriculum and Modules
The BSc Clinical Dental Technology programme uses a spiral curriculum approach, building your knowledge and skills progressively across three years. Teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, problem-based learning (PBL), clinical simulations on manikins, and supervised patient treatment. Assessment combines written examinations, practical coursework, and in-course clinical competency evaluations.
Focuses on the normal and abnormal development and growth of the oro-facial region, as well as the basic science underpinning oral and systemic disease relevant to clinical dentistry.
Develops foundational skills in dental technology, introducing you to restorative dentistry and the work of the dental team during patient treatment.
Provides knowledge of clinical procedures underpinning dental care for dentate and edentulous patients, covering the rationale for replacing missing teeth and clinical steps for various denture types.
Develops skills in evidence-based approaches to learning, practice, clinical judgement, and decision-making, with emphasis on professionalism and minimising health inequalities.
Introduces more complex cases in restorative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, and orthodontic devices, including clinical placement for patient interaction.
