Political Science: Critique - Rule - Transformation (Master)
Main Campus, Germany
The Master's degree course, which focuses on the analysis and critique of political rule and social transformation, offers the opportunity to develop your own specialization through a combination of compulsory and elective courses. Basic modules cover questions of state, law, democracy and social policy; political economy (of work), political ecology, gender relations, globalization and North-South relations as well as comparative political science and region-specific phenomena (e.g. EU or Latin America).
Students can then delve deeper into post-colonial, feminist, materialist or post-structuralist perspectives, for example. To this end, students can choose courses from the range of courses offered by the Political Science department, replace a sub-module with a seminar designed by the students themselves and attend courses from other degree programs and subject areas (after consultation with the respective supervisors).
