Human Nutrition Degree Overview

Greenwich's Human Nutrition degree equips students with the scientific expertise to connect nutrition, health, and disease. The program builds from foundational topics like biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition principles to advanced areas such as clinical and public health nutrition. Accredited by the Association for Nutrition, it offers diverse career paths in healthcare, academia, the food industry, sports nutrition, and research. Small practical class sizes enhance the learning experience, and the program is taught at the Medway Campus in Kent.

Course Overview

• Year 1:
• Fundamentals in biology, chemistry, nutrition, and practical skills.
• Year 2:
• Deeper focus on metabolism, epidemiology, nutrition education, and life-cycle nutrition.
• Year 3:
• Applied projects in sport, clinical nutrition, and public health, with optional modules like Cancer Biology or Food Crime.

Placements & Internships

Students have the opportunity to pursue summer placements (ranging from 6 weeks to 3 months) or a 9-12 month sandwich year between the second and third year. Placement hosts include reputable organizations such as the NHS, GSK, and Dyson, with additional international opportunities available through IAESTE.
