Curriculum and Course Modules

The MS in Industrial Engineering requires a minimum of 30 credit hours, typically completed by taking 10 courses. Students take a minimum of seven IE courses, plus three additional courses which can be either IE or from other departments such as Mathematics or Management with advisor approval.

Operations Research and Optimization

Covers deterministic and stochastic optimization methods, linear programming, integer programming, and network models applied to industrial systems and supply chain problems.

Statistical Methods for Engineering

Advanced principles of statistical inference, data analysis, point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation, regression, and analysis of variance methods for engineering applications.

Human Factors and Ergonomics

Provides knowledge and experience in solving real-life problems related to human performance and safety in the workplace, covering ergonomic design principles and human-system interaction.

Machine Learning for Engineering Applications

Covers classical and advanced machine learning models, convolutional and recurrent neural networks, attention mechanisms, loss functions, and optimization methods with Python implementation for engineering applications.

Lean Production Systems

Explores core principles of Lean thinking including value stream mapping, flow, pull, and continuous improvement (Kaizen), with practical application in manufacturing, service industries, and administrative functions.
