Statistics & Business Management
Program Overview: Statistics and Management for Business BSc
This joint degree programme, run collaboratively by the UCL Department of Statistical Science and the UCL School of Management, combines rigorous training in statistics with modules covering the broad area of business studies. It aims to provide a powerful combination of management and quantitative skills useful for a career in business, management, commerce, or industry.
You will take roughly half your modules in statistics, mathematics, and computing, while the other half will consist of modules in management, accountancy, finance, and optionally economics. The first and second years provide a solid foundation in statistics, mathematics, and business, while a wide range of options in the third year allows you to place more emphasis on either the statistics or the management component.
Theoretical studies are balanced with an emphasis on practical work, including the use of specialist software and realistic illustration of theoretical concepts. The programme does not assume any previous exposure to statistics or business studies, making the first year an ideal foundation for all students regardless of background.
Key Program Highlights
- Joint programme leveraging expertise from both the UCL Department of Statistical Science and the UCL School of Management
- Flexible third-year options allowing specialisation in statistics, finance, medicine, marketing, or management
