Dentistry and Dental Proshodontics

With the introduction of Law No. 163 of November 8, 2021, pursuant to Articles 1 and 3, the final examination for the single-cycle master's degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics - class LM-46 qualifies students to practice dentistry. To this end, professional skills are acquired through a Practical-Evaluative Internship (TPV) within the program. The effectiveness of this training is verified with a practical-evaluative test (PPV), with a possible assessment of suitability, designed to assess the candidate's level of practical preparation for professional licensure. This test precedes the defense of the thesis, according to the procedures established by the Permanent Conference of the Presidents of the Degree Programs in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, in consultation with the National Dental Register Commission.

The profession of Dentist, established in Italy by Law 409/85, is practiced by those who hold a degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics and have passed a specific state exam and the related professional qualification. Or, mandatory for students enrolled in the degree programs in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics in the 2022/2023 academic year, by those who successfully pass the practical assessment test (PPV) prior to the final degree exam.
