Program Overview: Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering

The Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering program at Piri Reis University prepares students for careers as merchant navy deck officers and maritime professionals. The program includes a one-year English preparatory course followed by four years of undergraduate education, with English as the mandatory language of instruction.

The curriculum fully complies with International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards and aligns with the 2010 amendments to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW-1978). It is monitored and audited by both YOK (Higher Education Council) and the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering from the Faculty of Maritime Studies. The program combines theoretical instruction with extensive hands-on training through advanced simulator centers, laboratories, workshops, and 12 months of mandatory onboard sea internship.
