Professional Education First Cycle

The Bachelor’s Degree Course was activated in the academic year 2005/2006 in order to ensure the training of Professional Educators in the Marche Region; its strength is the uniqueness in the Region.

The first location of the Course was the Didactic Pole of the Colocci Foundation in Jesi, initially in collaboration with the Bachelor’s Degree Course in Social Worker of the Faculty of Economics, a collaboration then ended

Currently the training takes place in the Didactic Pole of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Ancona.

Professional figures

The Professional Educator manages, evaluates and verifies educational interventions aimed at the recovery and development of the potential of those in difficulty in order to achieve increasingly advanced levels of autonomy within social, health, social-health, rehabilitative and socio-educational services.

In the system of social and health networks, the Professional Educator carries out interventions concerning interpersonal relationships, the family, groups and institutions, social, health and educational services using educational and methodological tools, psycho-pedagogical activities and health and psycho-social rehabilitation.

Career opportunities

The professional activity can be spent in the public and privately affiliated sector and as freelance professional; the figure of the Professional Educator has the possibility of job placement within all the residential and semi-residential structures, of both social and health nature.

The Professional Educator can also perform tasks within territorial educational structures and within public institutions, in particular Municipalities and Territorial Areas.

Admission procedure

Access to the Course is allowed by passing a written examination characterized by multiple choice question focused on biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, logic and general culture’s topics.

Didactic methods

The didactic methods adopted by the Bachelor’s Degree Course are interactive oriented lessons to promote the objectives of relation and of theoretical and practical integration of skills, frontal lessons, e-learning, seminars, discussion on clinical cases, exercises in small groups.

Training path

The set of knowledge that will be acquired by the graduate in the three years, and that will constitute the cultural scientifical and relational background necessary to achieve the full professional competence in order to understand and manage the problematic and pathological situations that require educational intervention in all age groups, are equal to 180 ECTS, of which 60 ECTS are dedicated to the professionalizing clinical Traineeship, which includes: the practical internship carried out in the affiliated health and social structures of the Region under the supervision of professional who carry out activities of tutoring, the educational supervision related to the Internship experience, the seminars focused on specific topics related to Professional Education, the theoretical and practical exercises of annual Internship’s workshops.

In addition to curricular courses, students are offered a wide range of monographic courses for deepening the area of interest of the specific professional skills.

The Course lasts three years and ends with a final qualifying exam.
