It is home to over 4,500 students and a global alumni network of more than 35,500 across 190 countries. For 125 years, LSHTM has led collaborative efforts to improve health worldwide through research, education and public engagement. LSHTM’s research spans infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, environmental health, health systems, and social inequalities. By exploring how societal, economic and environmental factors shape health, LSHTM addresses some of the world’s most urgent challenges. Its multidisciplinary approach ensures lasting impact in over 100 countries. As a graduate-focused institution, LSHTM offers one-year intensive master’s programmes, distance learning degrees and doctoral study. Programmes are research- led and practice-oriented, preparing future leaders in health. 90% of graduates are in work or further study within 15 months, with many going on to careers in top global organisations, NGOs and government agencies. At the forefront of global health crises, LSHTM was pivotal in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The School continues to lead the way, developing new approaches to help communities tackle pressing health challenges worldwide.
