Curriculum and Modules

The BA Dance and Drama curriculum is structured across three levels, each comprising four modules worth 30 credit points. You must complete 120 credits at each level for a total of 360 UK credits. Making Theatre Happen

An introductory module exploring fundamental components of drama such as plot, action, character, and dialogue. You will investigate key concepts of performance through practical workshops and rehearsals.

Dance Techniques and Cultures

This module develops critical, analytical, and embodied knowledge of a range of movement-based creative practices. You will explore diverse dance forms through classroom-based and practical workshops.

Creating Dance

Focused on choreographic practice, this module gives you the opportunity to develop and produce dance projects of your choice. You will explore creative processes from concept through to performance.

Hip Hop and Urban Performance Practices

This module explores popular and non-Western performance forms, reflecting the professional practice you will experience in your career. You will develop skills in urban dance styles and their cultural contexts.

Theatre History and Performance

Investigate key periods in theatre history including classical Indian dance, the Victorian stage, postcolonial interventions, and contemporary Black theatre. You will apply your knowledge and research skills in a performance presentation.

Professional Development and Career Management
