Overview
Our department, which encourages our students to use their creativity actively by developing their analytical skills and visual language, aims to train designers with high social responsibility and a sense of questioning who will work at the intersection of art, design and mass culture. In addition to the cultural studies they carry out in the field of social sciences, our students, who have the opportunity to practice in a wide range, develop their designer/artist roles and enrich their conceptual, critical and organizational skills. Our students, who have the chance to practice in the fields of advertising, design, digital content production and creative art, meet sectoral demands with their studies and benefit from the studio, city, society, economy and industry, which are the tools that will improve themselves.
Mission
The mission of the Visual Communication Design Department is to train designers who will actively use their creativity by developing their analytical skills and visual language, who will work at the intersection of art, design and mass culture, and who have a high sense of social responsibility and questioning. To train individuals who closely follow scientific, artistic and technological developments throughout their lives, who can reflect this knowledge and experience in their lives, who are original, contemporary, self-expressive, researching and thinking.

To be a preferred educational unit that carries out theoretical and applied academic studies with interdisciplinary education programs by incorporating innovations in design into its system. To be an innovative and contemporary educational institution that aims to train contemporary, pioneering and creative visual communication designers of the future by teaching traditional and computer-aided design methods.

Why Department of Visual Communication Design?
It aims to train students as contemporary, cultured visual communication designers who have technical knowledge and skills in their field, can use information, design and communication tools, research, question, renew themselves, and can present original ideas and designs. In the digital age, communication technologies are developing rapidly. Professions are also changing. The importance of visual communication is increasing. In the future, there will be a great need for well-equipped professionals who can train themselves in this field. We closely follow communication technologies and sectoral developments; we reflect the needs of the age in our curriculum. We bring our students together with high-level technical facilities, modern hardware and software. Our MAC and PC computer laboratories, photo studios and basic design workshops with technologically sufficient hardware and software are open for use at all times.

- In Aesthetics , the concept of beauty, the philosophy of art, the theory of art,
- In Visual Storytelling , storyboarding includes visual literacy,
- Use of light, artificial light and composition in Studio Photography ,
- Illustration techniques and styles in Digital Illustration ,
- Original property sign design in Ex-libris Design ,
- In Video and Sound Design, you will learn basic editing theories, video production, sound design,
- Experimental Typography involves creating a visual language, abstraction, simplification, hierarchy,
- In Image and Semiology, sign interpretations, meaning-making processes,
- In Character Design, we include concept design, human anatomy, and stylizing the figure,
- Brand, product identity, packaging in Packaging Design ,
- Communication technologies, mobile application development and publishing in Mobile Application ,
- In the Generic Design , motion design for cinema and TV, kinetic typography, animation,
- In Neuro Design we combine design thinking, creativity, innovation, neuroscience,
- In Design Ethics , intellectual rights, intellectual property,
- Your sectoral knowledge and skills will develop during the internship .
