Overview
İstinye University Psychology Non-Thesis Master's Program has educational content in many subjects from the sub-fields of psychology. The program focuses on teaching current theoretical knowledge in the field and preventive psychological health practices. The field of psychology is now in a multidisciplinary structure. The new trend in psychology is to prioritize practices aimed at preventing disorders rather than developing treatment methods for psychological disorders. Supporting individual and social psychological health with preventive practices has become a priority for health policies all over the world. In the program, students will have in-depth knowledge of current research in the field of psychology and new subjects such as Health Psychology, Cyber Psychology, Cognitive Psychology and Forensic Psychology that our country needs trained people. In this context, students will be supported to have knowledge and to develop their skills in analyzing, interpreting and implementing scientific information.
The master's program does not only provide theoretical knowledge and infrastructure, but also provides examples and models for students to create preventive practices on a scientist & practitioner basis. One of the main objectives of the program is to introduce students to practices in the newly gaining momentum in psychology. First of all, students receive training on topics such as scientific ethics, advanced research methods in social sciences, and analytical thinking skills. Then, they will deepen their knowledge about the sub-fields of psychology that they can use in the future. Students will be able to use their knowledge about the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral factors behind human behavior in their careers. Students who want to advance further in the academic field and receive doctoral education will also gain many benefits thanks to the experienced faculty members of this program.
They will also be informed about other current research topics in psychology, new models, and techniques in psychological applications. They will gain an understanding of the scientific evidence-based perspective, and acquire scientific thinking and analysis skills. They will have knowledge in conducting scientific research, producing projects, and presenting preventive psychological health models. They will be ready to apply the basic knowledge of psychology in different areas such as scientific research, health psychology, preventive applications, and cognitive psychology from a multidisciplinary perspective.
