Nursing (Turkish) - Non Thesis Program

Purpose of the Program

The purpose of the Nursing Master's Program is to train expert nurses who have the skills to plan, organize, supervise and develop in order to make nursing services more effective and efficient; who are equipped with the moral, intellectual and leadership skills necessary to provide quality nursing care; and who effectively use knowledge, skills and advanced technology within a quality service approach.

In addition, it is aimed to train scientific specialist nurses who can communicate with different segments of society, who can follow scientific developments and use them in professional and academic fields, and who have questioning and investigative qualities.

Structure of the Program

The Thesis Program includes a total of 32 credits of course work, 9 courses , seminars and a thesis that complies with scientific criteria. The Non-Thesis Program includes a 35 credits of course work, 10 courses, seminars and a graduation project that includes scientific research. The Nursing Master's Program is divided into sub-specialties and these branches are;

• Public Health Nursing
• Management in Nursing
• Intensive Care Nursing

Application Conditions and Required Documents

Application Conditions

• Graduating from a 4-year university's Nursing, Health Officer or Midwifery Department
• Being successful in the interview exam
• To get at least 55 points (Numerical) from ALES exam (For thesis-based MA program)

Application Documents

• Undergraduate Graduation Certificate (Original document, notarized copy or graduation certificate obtained from the E-Government system)
• ALES exam document (Only for thesis programs - minimum 55 numerical points)
• Transcript; original or approved by the university from which the student graduated.
• Copy of ID Card, Notarized Copy or Document Received via E-Government
• 1 passport size photo
• Residence and Criminal Record from E-Government
• Military Status Certificate for Male Candidates
• For Graduates from Universities Abroad; Original or certified copy of the equivalence certificate received from the Council of Higher Education and/or a certificate of recognition issued by the Council of Higher Education.
• Filling out the TC Istanbul Okan University Master's Degree application form
