Architecture (Turkish) - Non Thesis Program

Purpose of the Program

The aim of the Architecture Master's Programs within the Istanbul Okan University Graduate Education Institute is to provide expertise in contemporary and pioneering architectural subjects that will meet the needs of our country. The Master's Programs provide the necessary research and education opportunities for architects who are in professional practice or who want to step into academic life, in order to gain the understanding of professional "Competence" within the framework of the Bologna decisions and process. Graduates of the Master's Programs will have acquired the necessary current knowledge and skills in business life in addition to the academic skills they have gained.

Structure of the Program

The total number of credits that students must complete in order to graduate from the Thesis Master's Program is 24. The Master's Thesis is determined after the students who have successfully passed the necessary stages meet with their advisors, taking into account the areas of interest and scientific research they want to conduct, and is carried out under the supervision of an advisor appointed by the Board of Directors of the Institute of Science. The thesis master's program is completed with success in the Master's Thesis.

The total number of credits required to graduate from the Non-thesis Master's Program is 30. The non-thesis master's program is completed by successfully completing a Term Project.

Application Conditions and Required Documents

Application Conditions

• Having a four-year degree from the Faculty of Architecture
• To get at least 55 points (Numerical) from ALES exam (For thesis-based MA program)

Application Documents

• Undergraduate Graduation Certificate (Original document, notarized copy or graduation certificate obtained from the E-Government system)
• ALES exam document (Only for thesis programs - minimum 55 numerical points)
• Transcript; original or approved by the university from which the student graduated.
• Copy of ID Card, Notarized Copy or Document Received via E-Government
• 1 passport size photo
• Residence and Criminal Record from E-Government
• Military Status Certificate for Male Candidates
• For Graduates from Universities Abroad; Original or certified copy of the equivalence certificate received from the Council of Higher Education and/or a certificate of recognition issued by the Council of Higher Education.
• Filling out the TC Istanbul Okan University Master's Degree application form
