About the Department

Psychology is a branch of science that explains human behaviours, emotions, mental and developmental processes according to scientific methods. Our department conducts its studies in such a way as to serve the development of this science, which has a wide range from basic science to practical science. Psychology consists of different departments. Our department aims to give an education to develop a broad perspective to the areas of core expertise in order to form a conceptual framework for the science of psychology paralel to basic principles. Moreover, it proposes an education equipped with professional ethics and values that will enrich the scientific point of view besides the basic information of research methods. The graduates of the Department of Psychology take the title of psychologist and can find a job in academic circles easily.

Fields of Employment after Graduation

The graduates of the Department of Psychology are entitled to work at nongovernmental organizations, hospitals, schools, courts and prisons and a variety of companies.

About the Courses

The courses in our syllabus are concerned with the location of psychology as a discipline, its historical development and its inherent theoretical conflicts. They are intended to associate the fields in question with the other scientific fields, to acquaint the students with the areas of application that form the basis of expertise education and to provide them with practical skills at the undergraduate level. Our syllabus is prepared in such a way as to meet the minimum standards of undergraduate education of psychology. There are such courses as Clinical Psychology, Experimental psychology, Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology in the syllabus.
