Overview
By equipping students to conduct scientific research, develop critical approaches and create a theoretical framework, the program offers them the opportunity to develop themselves in the long term for their personal studies, and provides them with national and international achievements, knowledge and skills equipped with theoretical and applied information supported by up-to-date and technological resources in the fields of politics, economics and diplomacy during their four-year undergraduate education.
Department Goal
The Department of Political Science and International Relations aims to educate students who are knowledgeable about the program, have developed academic skills, can critically evaluate the world around them and have strong communication skills. It is aimed that each student who graduates from the Political Science and International Relations program will have knowledge of international developments at local, national and international levels and concepts, facts and theories in political science, will be able to analyze the political world comprehensively including behaviors, institutions, organizations and philosophical foundations in political life, will have the skills necessary to contribute to important research and theoretical discussions as part of studies in the fields of Turkish politics, comparative politics, international relations and political thought, will be able to think creatively and critically on basic issues related to international developments and will have acquired the skills necessary to have a job in fields related to political science/international relations.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Department of Political Science and International Relations have a wide range of career opportunities in various units of the public and private sectors, both domestically and internationally. Graduates can be employed as diplomats, consultants, middle and senior managers, auditors and experts, depending on the institutions they work for. In addition to ministries, undersecretariats and embassies, international organizations, think tanks and research centers, foreign trade companies, banks and tourism businesses, and the foreign news departments of the media are among the places where graduates can work. Students who prefer academic life can continue their master's and doctoral programs in line with their interests and find a place for themselves in the academic field.
