General Information
Department Goal
The Public Relations and Publicity department aims to train innovative professionals who can put into practice the theoretical knowledge they learn in classes, who can produce creative ideas and projects in communication strategies in line with the communication goal and who have the ability to implement their projects, who can follow new communication channels and use them correctly in the communication strategy they create, and who can create their own communication language. The department will also provide students with the ability to manage corporate communication in the best way possible.
Career Opportunities
Students who graduate from the Public Relations and Publicity Department and earn the title of communication specialist primarily work in corporate communication departments of corporate companies, public relations companies and advertising agencies. However, today, public and private companies also need to communicate with their target audiences. Our graduates have the opportunity to pursue a career as a communication specialist, marketing communication specialist, advertiser, creative writer, communication consultant, and communication professional in corporate communication and marketing departments of institutions and organizations in various sectors, media organizations, non-governmental organizations, etc. Our Public Relations and Publicity Department graduates who continue their master's programs can also pursue an academic career.
Departments where horizontal transfer is possible
Lateral transfers are possible to the departments of “Public Relations and Advertising”, “Advertising”, “Radio Television and Cinema”, “Television-Cinema”, “Journalism”, “Communication Sciences”, “Visual Communication Design” and “New Media” in the Faculties of Communication; and to the departments of “Public Relations and Publicity”, “Radio-Television” and “Advertising” in the Schools of Applied Sciences.
Vertical Transferable Departments
Graduates of vocational schools can continue their education by vertically transferring to four-year undergraduate programs if they meet the conditions in the relevant regulation.
