Discover Gisma University of Applied Sciences

Gisma University of Applied Sciences is a private, state-recognised institution established in 1999 as a joint initiative by the German state of Lower Saxony and major corporations including Volkswagen, Continental, Siemens, and TUI. Originally known as GISMA Business School (German International School of Management and Administration), the university has evolved from a local provider of executive education into a fully international academic institution with campuses in Berlin, Potsdam, Hamburg, and Hanover.

Since becoming part of Global University Systems (GUS) in 2013, Gisma has expanded its international reach significantly and now welcomes students from over 60 nationalities. In 2021, the institution received official University of Applied Sciences status from the German federal state of Brandenburg, granting it the power to award its own Bachelor's, Master's, and MBA degrees. All programmes are taught in English, with free German language courses offered to help students integrate into life in Germany.

Gisma holds AMBA accreditation for its Global MBA programme, a distinction shared by only six business schools in Germany and just 2% of business schools worldwide. The university also holds FIBAA accreditation for several programmes and is a member of the SAP University Alliances, integrating industry-standard enterprise software into its curriculum to ensure graduates are career-ready from day one.
