Gisma University of Applied Sciences, established in 1999 in Hanover as a joint initiative between the German state of Lower Saxony and major companies (e.g., Continental, Siemens, Volkswagen), has grown into a leading private institution focused on practical, industry-aligned education. Starting as a provider of executive education and MBAs in partnership with U.S. and European universities (e.g., University of Wales, Purdue), Gisma joined Global University Systems (GUS) in 2013, expanding its international reach. Key milestones include opening a flagship campus in Potsdam (2020), gaining full degree-awarding status from Brandenburg (2021), and forming a double-degree partnership with Kingston University London (2024).
