Program Overview: Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness at Conestoga College

The Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness (OHSW) graduate certificate program at Conestoga College provides a focused body of knowledge and skills required to monitor and assess the safety of people at work and related workplace hazards. In today's increasingly complex work environments, organizations recognize that the health and safety of employees is paramount, making competent health and safety professionals highly valued across all industries.

In addition to the fundamentals, students explore the management skills required to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of workplace safety, health, and wellness programs across all sectors. Students learn about existing health, safety, and wellness trends, analyze best practices, and utilize that learning to develop programs that address health, safety, and wellness concerns within the workplace.

The OHSW program prepares graduates to pursue the Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification offered by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP). As the program is accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), students are eligible for Student Membership during their studies and will meet the academic requirements for Technical membership upon successful completion.
