Mechanical Engineering (English)

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (English) at Beykent University offers a comprehensive 4-year undergraduate program designed to develop highly skilled, independent, and innovative engineers capable of addressing complex engineering problems across a wide range of industries. The program’s core objective is to educate graduates who can analyze and solve mechanical engineering problems using modern engineering tools and methods—without requiring supervision—while also contributing to technological advancement and sustainable development.

The curriculum is built upon a strong foundation of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and core engineering sciences, ensuring students gain a thorough understanding of mechanical systems and processes. Students are equipped with the knowledge and technical expertise required to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems used in industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, robotics, HVAC, and manufacturing.

In the early years of the program, students focus on foundational courses in calculus, linear algebra, physics, statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. These are followed by more advanced topics such as heat transfer, machine design, manufacturing processes, control systems, and mechanical vibrations. The program also integrates modern computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with simulation, modeling, and analysis software used in professional environments.

A significant feature of the program is the inclusion of technical elective courses, which students can choose according to their interests and career goals. These electives cover specialized areas such as renewable energy systems, mechatronics, biomechanics, automotive systems, advanced manufacturing, and robotics, enabling students to tailor their education to emerging technologies and industry demands.

A mandatory English Preparatory Class is required for students before starting the program unless they pass the university’s Level Determination and Proficiency Exam.
