Today, tourism activities have become one of the basic needs of people. Various reasons such as busy and stressful work life, speed, security and capacity increase in transportation vehicles, decreasing importance of country borders, desire for innovation and sense of curiosity increase people's demand to travel and spend time in a different location from their current location. The necessity and need of tourism has become an activity that needs to be managed and planned due to its positive contributions to national economies as well as its sociocultural contributions. Its importance is increasing especially for countries like Turkey, where tourism is the lifeblood of economic income. Considering its sociocultural and economic effects, in order to provide qualified labor force to the sector, approaching tourism from a systematic perspective has become an undeniable necessity, and the need for experts trained in the sector has become an undeniable necessity.
Tourism enterprises, on the other hand, have turned their faces to educational institutions in order to train qualified employment with the increasing importance of tourism. A tourism enterprise needs talented personnel who are equipped with knowledge about the business departments, can use communication skills effectively, learn the practices of tourism enterprises during the education process and can use foreign language knowledge at a high level.
As the Tourism Management Department, our strongest feature that distinguishes us from others is that our department is located in Alanya, one of the important tourism centers of Turkey. Another important feature is that the language of education is 100% English.
Our education program aims to train future professionals who can work at every level of their businesses, have a high sense of responsibility, adapt quickly to innovation and technological changes, and can speak at least two foreign languages very well. During the program, our students are aimed to be trained in a multi-faceted way, from the tourism and travel industry to business and management, from economics and finance to various elective foreign language courses by taking courses in both the business major and tourism management departments. In addition, we support our students in developing their business and life skills by communicating with different cultures during their education abroad with many international universities and programs that we have mutual agreements with.
We have academic staff with sector and academic knowledge and experience. At the same time, we frequently bring our students together with leading successful managers of the sector. In this way, we ensure that knowledge and experience are transferred from the sector to our students and beyond this, we open the doors to employment opportunities that they will have in the near future.
