Chemistry

The boundaries to neighboring scientific and technical disciplines are fluid, especially mathematics, physics, biology, and pharmacy. In addition to scientific methods, the program also teaches students the ability to act responsibly, particularly with regard to the effects of technological change.The Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry lasts six semesters (three years). The program consists of three study phases.

• Introductory semester: Fundamentals of general, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry as well as physics and mathematics
• Semesters two to four: The fundamentals of chemistry are deepened and introductory courses in the elective subjects (biochemistry, technical chemistry, macromolecular chemistry) are offered
• Advanced studies with the final thesis (fifth and sixth semesters); within the free elective area, additional scientific modules or modules from other faculties can be chosen.
