Visual Arts / Concurrent Education Program Overview

The Visual Arts / Concurrent Education program at the University of Windsor allows you to earn two degrees in just five years: a Bachelor of Arts (General) in Visual Arts and a Bachelor of Education. You will study in the University's School of Creative Arts while simultaneously completing education coursework and gaining hands-on teaching experience in local schools.

This program prepares you to teach intermediate and senior students in Grades 7 through 12 upon graduation. You will develop skills in expressing yourself through visual imagery, creating works of art using a variety of techniques and media, and building visual literacy to understand the powerful role of images in contemporary culture.

Graduates are eligible for the Ontario Certificate of Qualification (OCT) through the Ontario College of Teachers, opening the door to teaching careers across Ontario and beyond. The program also includes service learning opportunities in the community and abroad, including international teaching placements.
