Overview

About Africana Studies at Toledo University

The Africana Studies program seeks to promote greater understanding and improvement of the historical, cultural and socio-economic developments and experiences of African and African-descended people across the Diaspora. Africana Studies undergraduates take classes across many disciplines and expand their learning beyond the classroom and into the community. The program is the result of grassroots activism by UToledo students dating back more than fifty years. The curriculum is designed for students who are intellectually curious and passionate about social justice and community activism.
