Not only will you develop journalistic skills such as research, identifying and interviewing credible sources, editing texts, and selecting stories for publication, but you will also gain knowledge about the business of media. This prepares you for a more detailed exploration of various aspects of the media environment in the subsequent years.

You will also have the opportunity to conduct research on key topics relating to media communications and will be encouraged to reflect on your own role as a consumer and creator of media content.
Assessment

You’ll be set authentic assessments, meaning that your projects, tasks and exercises will replicate the working world of media and communications including oral presentations, ‘real world’ case study projects and portfolio work. This will ensure you are fully prepared for life after graduation.
Between Years 2 and 3, you can also opt for a professional placement year, meaning you can apply for a placement and gain valuable real-world experience in media and communications.
