Two-Year Qualifying Law Course Overview

This intensive two-year qualifying law course is designed for individuals with an undergraduate degree in a different field who have a strong interest in law. The program offers a comprehensive exploration of substantive law, examining legal issues through various lenses, including social, political, moral, and economic perspectives.

Course Highlights

• Employability Focus: Strong connections with legal employers in London provide students with networking opportunities, guest speaker events, and volunteering prospects. Students can gain practical experience by working on real cases through the Legal Advice Centre and the Innocence Project London.
• International Opportunities: Graduates have the option to pursue a JD or LLM at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in Minnesota, USA, with potential scholarships covering up to 50% of tuition. The JD program can be completed in just 15 months, significantly shorter than the standard three years.

Workload

Each module carries 15 or 30 credits, requiring a total of 150–300 study hours. Students receive 72 contact hours for 30-credit modules and are expected to engage in 228 hours of independent study.

• Work Placements: Optional placements typically involve one day a week over one or two terms. While these placements are generally unpaid, students receive support from Greenwich's extensive industry network.
• Career Paths: Graduates are well-prepared for a variety of careers, including roles as solicitors, barristers, legal assistants, compliance officers, and positions in education, finance, civil service, and NGOs.
