History and Cultural Studies

The History and Cultural Studies program is characterized by its wide range of subjects; you can choose from a total of 15 different majors and numerous additional minors. This allows for a very diverse range of subject combinations and thus a personalized study profile. The content varies considerably depending on the chosen subjects. The history subjects provide you with insight into the events of historical times in all eras, the Classical Philology subjects focus on the language and culture of European antiquity, and the Art Education subject focuses on the communication, analysis, and testing of artistic works. The degree programs are aimed at students interested in linguistic, cultural, and humanities topics. These include questions of communal living, the design and description of cultural spaces, the arts practiced in these cultures, and their historical development and significance.
