This is where the Bachelor's degree program in Data Science at JLU comes in. The six-semester Bachelor's program aims to provide students with the necessary skills in programming (Python, R), mathematics (algebra, statistics), modeling, as well as methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning, database systems, and ethical and legal principles for handling data. In addition to this fundamental knowledge, a lecture series and a wide range of elective options provide students with insight into the diverse application areas of data science across the university. Accordingly, the topic of the Bachelor's thesis can be chosen largely freely from JLU institutes that focus on data science. After this initial professional qualification as a Data Scientist (B.Sc.), students can pursue a consecutive, four-semester Master's program. In addition to deepening the methods and techniques taught in the Bachelor's program in the first year, the focus here is on a stronger connection to fundamental research in the field of Data Science.
