Overview
Long Term Care Administration (Master's)
Nursing facility administrators ensure excellent resident care and oversee the financial and regulatory performance of nursing facilities.
Program Overview
The M.L.T.C.A. program is designed for those interested in long-term care to embark upon a career in administration. During the program, students will develop competencies that are required to provide proper administration of nursing facilities. The program can be completed in a few as 15 months.
Course Work
Coursework is exclusively online to ensure that working students have the greatest flexibility in completing their studies. We offer optional in-person meetings to gain exposure to the profession. Prior meetings have been held at Texas facilities, industry conventions, and the Texas State Capitol. The degree requires a 1,000-hour Administrator-in-Training (AIT) internship, which must be completed at a nursing facility. When completed, the required coursework and AIT opportunity allow students to become eligible for state and national boards for licensure. States outside Texas are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Program Details
The M.L.T.C.A. program, delivery format, small class sizes, and preceptor-led Administrator-in-Training (AIT) opportunities allow flexibility for those working in the field or looking to make a career change.
