Healthcare Administration
M.H.A. students transform into leaders in healthcare through the active engagement in graduate healthcare administration curriculum.
The M.H.A. program enhances the career mobility of students at any stage of their careers in healthcare administration. The traditional M.H.A. program, which is in a hybrid format, is geared toward students entering or in the early phase of their healthcare careers.
The Executive M.H.A. program is fully online and is designed for professionals with at least five years of experience in the industry. The primary focus of the curriculum is middle to senior-level management.
Course Work
The M.H.A. program requires a total of 49 hours, which includes core courses and either field experience or a thesis in the hybrid format or a thesis or administrative practicum in the executive online model. Principal areas of study include health and disease, sociological, economic, legal and political forces affecting healthcare, and management and organizational behavior with specializations in financial management, human resource management, planning, marketing and data generation, and analysis.

Texas State's Master of Healthcare Administration program has been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) since 1992.
