About Schiller International University
Schiller International University (SIU) is a private American university with its main campus and administrative headquarters in Tampa, Florida. Named after the distinguished German poet and philosopher Friedrich Schiller, the university has campuses on two continents in four countries: Tampa (United States), Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), and Heidelberg (Germany).
Founded in 1964 by Dr. Walter Leibrecht, a German professor who taught at Columbia University and Harvard University, Schiller was originally created as a study-abroad program for Americans living in West Germany. The university is often referred to as the first American multicampus university in Europe, and it has grown to serve over 20,000 alumni from more than 130 nationalities.
Schiller International University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and follows a U.S. curriculum with English as the language of instruction on all campuses.
