The Rutgers-Camden Master of Science in Forensic Science Program focuses on the following sub-disciplines:
Forensic Chemistry
Students can take courses focusing on the field of forensic chemistry and gain laboratory and research experience in topics related to chemical analysis, instrumentation, and forensic drug analysis. These courses equip students with specialized expertise in the chemical aspects of forensic science.
Toxicology
Students can take courses focusing on the field of toxicology and gain laboratory and research experience in topics related to the study of poisons, drugs, and their effects on the human body. These courses help students gain specialized knowledge in this crucial area of forensic science.
DNA Profiling
Students can take courses focusing on the field of forensic biology and gain laboratory and research experience in topics related to DNA analysis, forensic biology, and crime scene investigation. These courses enable students to develop expertise in the biological aspects of forensic science.
Hands-on learning is a cornerstone of our program. Students actively learn and practice forensic techniques that are used daily in forensic laboratories nationwide, including the latest advancements in forensic technology. This practical experience not only enhances their theoretical knowledge but also hones their practical skills, preparing them for the demands of the profession.
