Overview

An important aspect of the research on neurological disease is the clinical translation aspect, which is a major part of our MSc programme. Translational medicine is the process of applying research findings from basic science to clinical practice, with the goal of improving patient outcomes.

You will study topics such as the principles of drug design and development, in particular the key steps involved in the drug discovery and development process, and learn about clinical trial design and methodology. You will also critically discuss the challenges associated with developing better therapies in various diseases and gain insight into the regulatory environment. Furthermore, you will be able to gain state of the art expertise in areas such as brain tumours, pain, neurodegenerative diseases and neuroinflammation, neurotrauma and stem cells therapeutics, and this will be delivered through specialised interactive sessions with world leading experts in the field.

What sets our Neuroscience programme apart is our unique emphasis on the present clinical challenges in neurological disease. This programme ties together the scientific, clinical, and patient care aspects of neurological disease in a unique way, which makes our course quite different from other courses.
