Student Learning Outcomes
- The graduate will demonstrate the ability to use fundamental concepts from the core subfields of political science to explain political activity at the local, national, and international levels.
- The graduate will be prepared to ethically and effectively participate in the process by which collective decisions are made about the use of social resources.
- The candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively to peers using scholarly resources and literature from political science.
Program Requirements
Students who complete the requirements for a bachelor of arts (BA) degree in politics and government will be prepared for knowledgeable participation in the civic life of their communities and for jobs that require the ability to use theoretical and practical concepts to explain political behavior.
Major Requirements
36 hours of major coursework
120 total credits for graduation
A comprehensive examination is required and must be passed. A minimum of 16 credits at the 3000 level or higher in the major are to be taken at North Park. A minimum of sixteen semester hours at the 3000 level or higher in the major are to be taken at North Park University
