Opticianry

Opticianry Program is a specialized two-year associate degree designed to train skilled healthcare professionals in the field of vision care and optical products. The program focuses on developing the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare, fit, and sell prescription glasses, contact lenses, and other optical devices, while also providing basic eye health support under the supervision of ophthalmologists and optometrists.

The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, including optics, ocular anatomy and physiology, visual optics, lens technology, frame selection and adjustment, ophthalmic materials, optical instruments, and the basics of refraction. Students also study professional ethics, communication, and customer service—essential for providing quality care and guidance to clients.

Hands-on training is central to the program, with students gaining experience in laboratory environments where they learn to grind, shape, and assemble lenses, as well as adjust and repair frames. Practical internships in optical stores and eye clinics further prepare students for real-world applications of their skills.
