The Master's degree in Ancient Worlds, co-accredited with the University of Lyon 2 and the ENS de Lyon, aims to train future specialists in the Sciences of Antiquity, by providing them with multidisciplinary training focused on research.

The "LLCA" program aims to train future specialists in ancient languages and literature, from the origins to the end of Antiquity. The training, centered on the linguistic, literary, and philological approach to ancient texts (in Greek and Latin), aims to acquire multidisciplinary knowledge of Antiquity in all its aspects, to master modern bibliography (particularly in foreign languages) to fully exercise critical thinking, produce original research, and be able to teach and disseminate it.

A common core of lectures/seminars familiarizes students with the major periods, phases, civilizations, and chronocultural areas that articulate knowledge of the ancient worlds. They must also master at least one modern foreign language.

Subsequently, the training combines research seminars, courses in ancient and modern languages, research methodology, introduction to auxiliary historical sciences (epigraphy, numismatics, archaeology, etc.), and digital humanities applied to ancient sources. Semester 4 is entirely dedicated to writing the original research dissertation for defense before a jury.

A mandatory internship in a professional environment during the first year of the master's degree can take various forms (excavations, hosting in a research laboratory, internship in a museum, a library, in a high school, etc.).
