New Media and Communication

The primary goal of the department is to equip students who will step into the media and communication sector with a very solid social sciences infrastructure. Within this framework, in the first year covering the first two semesters, in addition to the basic courses related to the field, it is aimed to provide theoretical and innovative education in a wide range of social sciences, from economics to political science, from law to philosophy, from sociology to business science. From the second year onwards, the first steps towards specialization will be taken with a program of both theoretical and practical courses related to the field, together with courses in the fields of journalism, new media and communication sciences. In addition, there will be a very wide alternative course pool for the specific areas that students plan to specialize in within the sector, together with elective courses. In the third and fourth years, our students, who have gained a solid social sciences background in the first two years as well as increased knowledge and awareness of their own fields, will have the opportunity to receive an education consisting mainly of applied and elective courses, with the guidance of their advisors in the fields they plan to specialize in in line with their career plans.
