Engineering Management (Turkish) - Thesis Program

Purpose of the Program

The aim of this program is to provide a "Management" perspective to new engineers who have received training in a wide range of Engineering in Turkey and to engineers with sectoral experience.

The Engineering Management Master's program will provide engineers who are specialized in different fields of engineering with information about the functioning of the basic functions of businesses such as production technologies, quality management, data and information management, marketing, logistics and distribution activities that today's businesses need the most.

At this point, the Engineering Management Master's program will provide its students with a global perspective and systematic thinking skills that integrate management, technology, and basic and social sciences, and will help companies that want to compete in today's international markets to eliminate cultural and organizational barriers.

The needs briefly summarized above require the training of expert engineers within the scope of a master's program and the provision of technical knowledge required by the sector for this qualified workforce. Therefore, the aim of the Engineering Management program is to create new opportunities in education and research in this field, to attract the best students of the country to the opened master's program, to create the infrastructure of future academics who will seek solutions to fundamental problems in the field they are educated in and expand the horizons of humanity's knowledge, to implement a researcher training program that will prepare students for an academic and research career, to be a pioneer in the field of rapidly changing production systems, to guide educational and industrial organizations, and to undertake a role in emphasizing the importance of research and examination in solving problems.

Structure of the Program

The Engineering Management Master's program is open to all Engineering and Architecture undergraduate program graduates. Students from non-engineering backgrounds are accepted to this program on the condition that they complete the scientific preparation program recommended to them. Candidates who meet these prerequisites will be admitted to an interview exam. The success grade to be taken as basis in the evaluation will consist of 50% ALES grade and 50% interview grade.

Application Conditions

• Having a four-year undergraduate degree in Engineering (Students from Architecture and other academic programs (such as Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Civil Engineering, Food Engineering, Geomatics Engineering and Electrical-Electronics) are accepted to this program on the condition that they complete the required scientific preparation program as a result of the evaluation to be made by the Department and the Institute.)
• To get at least 55 points (Numerical) from ALES exam (For thesis-based MA program)

• Undergraduate Graduation Certificate (Original document, notarized copy or graduation certificate obtained from the E-Government system)
• ALES exam document (Only for thesis programs - minimum 55 numerical points)
• Transcript; original or approved by the university from which the student graduated.
• Copy of ID Card, Notarized Copy or Document Received via E-Government
• 1 passport size photo
• Residence and Criminal Record from E-Government
• Military Status Certificate for Male Candidates
• For Graduates from Universities Abroad; Original or certified copy of the equivalence certificate received from the Council of Higher Education and/or a certificate of recognition issued by the Council of Higher Education.
• Filling out the TC Istanbul Okan University Master's Degree application form
